David Levey

David has joined Willowside as an Associate. His background was originally in commercial banking where he worked for Barclays at senior level in both London and New York. His roles included corporate finance and Business Centre Manager for a commercial division. David's main area of expertise is working capital finance. This is approached in a number of ways:-

• A thorough review of the way the internal cash flow of the company works, so that improvements can be made which normally add extra cash for very little cost;
• Reviewing the existing finance arrangements to see if they can be improved without changing lenders;
• If need be introducing new lenders to create an increased cash flow;
• Staying involved in the background if problems subsequently arise;
• Utilising his numerous and wide ranging funding contacts.

Since leaving banking, he has gone from gamekeeper to poacher and has for many years focused on helping small and medium sized companies with banking issues, including raising finance and invoice discounting. David currently chairs two manufacturing companies, specialising in electronics for the audio visual and video conferencing industries, and runs his own finance consultancy, Headway Management Ltd. Headway principally helps companies with factoring, trade finance and working capital issues. A lot of success was achieved with the Small Firms Loan Guarantee Scheme and now the focus is on Enterprise Finance Guarantee. International trade finance is a further speciality, which is the funding of imports and exports. Professionally qualified, David is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Subsequently he successfully completed a Corporate Finance Course at Manchester Business School.
